Praying With the Mothers

 

I’ve felt called to pray with our families to uplift them and show them they’re not alone. Many mothers carry deep burdens from their communities, and prayer unites people across different faiths here in Uganda.

 

When Mama Sheila asked for prayer for her husband to find work, we shifted the focus to her own gifts. This transformation is what we aim for: helping women recognise their worth and strength.

 

Home Visit: Imuran’s Story

During a home visit with Imuran, a young man with a neurological disability, we realised he needs practical living skills for independence. Initially, the activities didn’t engage him, but when we suggested washing his dusty shoes, he became focused and proud. That moment sparked motivation and confidence—a small step toward independence.

 

A Village That Belongs to Everyone

In Uganda, community is everything. We visited a village where everyone belongs and knows each person’s story. If a child wanders off, any adult will return them home.

 

 

When we built parallel bars in the village, it turned into a community event filled with laughter and connection. It wasn’t just about construction; it reminded us of the true meaning of belonging.
